Logo Design

My design for Mindz Eye Photography

Whoops!  I haven’t posted in awhile.  My summer has been fairly busy thus far (mostly with summer courses and work).  I’ve been managing to find some time to relax by our university’s public pool, so that is a nice “getaway.”

I designed this logo for fun.  A random person on deviantart started this contest so that he can get a new identity going for his photography company, Mindz Eye Photography.  I chose brackets to help identify the shape of the camera, but what I also liked about the brackets is that each bracket looks like a side profile of someone’s face. I arranged the shapes in such a way that the camera comes across as the head of a body.

Update on the Camp Bisco poster magic:  some of the guys on the advertising team have e-mailed me a couple of new band names to put on to the poster.  Once I get those names added, the poster will be prepared to print!  I just cannot wait!

I love this diagram!  It’s too clever.  I stumbled upon this image and checked out the blog that it came from, Inspiration Lab!  http://inspirationlab.wordpress.com/

Selling my Work and Accepting Donations

I have finally decided to set up a page where I can spread the word about selling my photography and accept donations to help aid in the cost of living and school expenses.  I won’t go in to too many specific details here since it is all explained on the site.  Please give it a read and spread the word!  :-)

Design Offices

So I am a hugeeee fan of stumbleupon.  I have found so many inspiring websites and links from it.  I recently stumbled upon this site showing all of these super trendy/sleek offices, and I can’t help but wish.

I always image myself being a successful designer/photographer in a workspace like this.  I think it’s important to surround your workspace with whatever inspires you. (I’m currently trying to do this in my own room). But, I can only dream that someday I’ll be able to work in a fresh, clean, stylish office much like these.

Not much happening on the personal level.  I have begun week two of my summer session courses.  So far, so good.  Everyone thinks I am crazy for doing a full 18 credit hour summer (9 per session), but I really feel like it’s going to go smoothly.  I’m testing my patience in my drawing class… I guess I need it :-)

Entering the WordPress Realm

Design Winner

Well, I have finally given in to the blogging world.  I am hoping that starting a wordpress page will help me gather and record some of my thoughts to help inspire myself, and perhaps others.

I decided to start this off with one of my more recent accomplishments.  I was recently notified that I am the winning designer for the Camp Bisco 2010 poster.  What is Camp Bisco?  It’s a music festival in Mariaville New York.  Their main headliner this year is the Disco Biscuits. (Bisco, Disco, coincidence)?  Che-che-check it out! http://www.campbisco.net/

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this pink theme… we’ll see how long it lasts.
